25.02.19 - [6.45pm] Email from Ian Reade [Principal Rural Fire Officer]
The rain has given some relief in the short term. Most fell in Motueka with around 20mm, else where around 5-8mm. There is no rain on the horizon for the next 10 days and it looks like temps are climbing back into mid high 20’s next week…so we are going to back where we were until we get enough rain to change the colour of the grass. Hot windy days will be when we are most at risk, particularly in the afternoons from midday through to 6:00pm.
19.02.19 - [5.30pm] TWILIGHT ON WEDNESDAYS BACK TO NORMAL
18.02.19 - [1.15pm] COURSE RE-OPENS TUESDAY 19th FEBRUARY - EVACUATION POLICY REMAINS IN PLACE.
17.02.19 - [6.40pm] Fantastic turn-out for the working bee. Forty five members managed to clear the course of the felled trees, complete spring clean of the clubhouse, re-organise the trundler shed and clear over-hanging tree limbs out of the car park area. A huge amount of work - thank you all. Volunteers enjoying a well earned break below.

14.02.19 - [9.20am] NO CHANGE BUT WAITING FOR FURTHER UPDATES FROM CIVIL DEFENCE - Free golf now extended by the following clubs:- Nelson, Greenacares, Motueka and Waahi Takaaro. No green fees but fees for comp of the day if entering. Best to phone clubs in advance.
13.02.19 - [11.25am] NO CHANGE - PIGEON VALLEY ROAD REMAINS CLOSED TO NON-RESIDENTS
12.02.19 - [6.25pm] Received a text from TDC this morning just before 10am allowing access to the club - IN ERROR !! So I shot down to the club after posting on the website and facebook. Soon followed by Robin Frengley. Club and Course looking far better than I expected but then was nearly arrested for unauthorised access to Pigeon Valley Road as I was not a resident. Just enough time to take a couple of photos and clear the fridge of decaying food. Greens are looking a little stressed and obviously short of water but they will have plenty of time to recover before we will be allowed to mow. Fairways no worse than Nelson or Greenacres. On the way out NewsHub TV requested an interview but I thought it best to decline as an unauthorised tresspasser.

12.02.19 - [9.45am] PIGEON VALLEY ROAD ACCESS PERMITTED TODAY 10.00am to 12noon to collect your clubs. PLEASE MEET WITH THE CORDON - NOTE THIS IS A TDC ERROR PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT ACCESS TO PIGEON VALLEY ROAD
12.02.19 - [9.42am] PIGEON VALLEY ROAD still remains closed - through TDC I have requested an escorted time slot for any members wishing to collect their golf clubs from the Clubhouse - If permitted I will post here. Please do not go independantly bothering the cordon.
11.02.19 - [2.25pm] There will be TDC ameeting at 4.00pm today to decide if RESIDENTS will be permitted back into Wakefield homes. There is a possibility that Pigeon Vally Road maybe open to residents this will not however mean that we will be permitted to have access to the Golf Club to commence any clean up operation and certainly use of any course machinery will be highly unlikely. I'm in constant touch with the Civil Defence Team and will advise as soon as we have an 'official OK'
11.02.19 - COURSE REMAINS CLOSED - All golf in this weeks programme is CANCELLED. We will advise when the course is ready for play here on this webpage. Meanwhile please contact your section captain to play golf at Nelson Golf Club.

09.02.19 - SH6 between Wakefield and Brightwater is Closed, Pigeon Valley Road is Closed.
